Loved this - I also don’t drink and going on holiday soon. My biggest anxiety was not having control of my mind and having huge anxiety, so I’m hoping that going away without the anxiety of having a drink will mean this is one of the most relaxing holidays yet! I also completely understand what you mean about the birthday thing - I had a super quiet birthday this year and didn’t want the pressure of a big celebration. It actually ended up being a really lovely, special day with just my closest and really helped me to hone in on what’s important to me. I hope you have a wonderful day celebrating! Also, your holiday wardrobe is stunning!!

Hi Ella! Thanks for reading 🤍 I’m sure you’ll have a lovely relaxing holiday. I’m the same as you, alcohol has such an impact on anxiety so having that time for my main concern of the day being what book I’d read or where I’d go to eat even just for a week while being completely free from a holiday hangover or the feeling I must get drunk as I’m on holiday. Yess love that. I think it’s a blessing in disguise having it on a Tuesday as I will work during the day and use the excuse of work the next day too to explain why I’m just staying in and will probably be in bed with a mint tea at 10pm. I just hate the focus being on me and anxiety of party like worrying who can come, will they have a good time, how should I look. It’s just like turning another year older but quietly and without a fuss. Thank you I hope I will too :) also omg that’s really kind thank you! 🩷

This is always what I imagined to be the most challenging part, honestly. Vacations get so defined by alcohol in western life that it's hard to imagine them without it
